Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway [including] Geographically Correct Map of Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul R’Y Showing Connections in the Great northwest, the South, East and Canada.

Chicago, 1878. Rand McNally & Co., Printers. Folding timetable and map, 7.5” x 3.75”, opening to 18 panels of text including illus. cover, with map on verso, 14.125” x 32.125” plus margins.

A fine timetable for the Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Railway. The map shows the network of railroads extending across the northern tier of states from the northeast as far west as Deadwood, Dakota. The Chicago, Milwaukee & St. Paul, with its various spurs in the region, is printed in red. The panels feature not only time tables but advertisements for various routes. One panel promotes “The ‘Custer Route’ From Chicago to the Gold Fields of the Black Hills,” just two years after the Battle of Little Bighorn. The Railroad began as the Milwaukee & Waukesha RR in Wisconsin in the 1840s.

CONDITION: Good, a few small breaks and separations at folds, a few small stains.
