First edition, second issue of London’s powerful sea-tale, centering on the conflict between the ruthless, individualistic ship captain, Wolf Larsen, and Humphrey Van Weyden, an over-civilized literary critic Larsen rescues from a shipwreck. This is the earliest obtainable issue, with the cancel title-leaf, the only copy of the first issue known to BAL being Jack London’s own copy.
