A handsomely illustrated, comprehensive guide to the operations of the Northern Pacific Railroad, including information about the Railroad’s land for sale as well as schedules, excursion rates and promotion for the Pullman sleeper car experience. The country the N.P.R.R. traverses is described in terms of its resources: agricultural, grazing industry, precious metals, coal, iron, lumbering and fishing, scenic wonderland, and more. Land availability is detailed for Minnesota, North Dakota, Montana, Northern Idaho, Washington and Oregon. North Dakota land, for example, “for a distance of 50 miles on each side of the track” is offered for $3.00–$6.00 an acre for agricultural land and $1.25–$4.00 an acre for grazing land. Yellowstone, Alaska and California excursion rates are included as well as schedules for branch lines and the main line from St. Paul to Tacoma and Portland. The map, entitled The Northern Pacific Railroad and Connections, shows most of the western half of the United States and depicts the full extent of the Northern Pacific Line from Minneapolis to Portland, Oregon as well as its various spurs and connections. Other railroad lines are identified as well. County borders are included for Minnesota, North and South Dakota, Montana, Wyoming, Idaho, Oregon and Washington.

CONDITION: Very good, minor separation at folds, light rubbing and soiling on front and back panels.
