A comprehensive, attractively illustrated look at the transportation provided by the Boston and Bangor, [Maine] Steamship Co. in 1882. Steamers traveled daily to Bangor via Rockland, Camden, Belfast, Searsport, Bucksport and Winterport, with a rail connection to Moosehead Lake, and steamer connections to Mount Desert, Bar Harbor, and beyond. The new and palatial Penobscot is introduced as the “Queen of the Eastern Waters” with saloons finished in cherry and oak. Includes stateroom plans for the Penobscot, Cambridge and Katahdin. The 7.5” x 7.5” map ranges from Boston to New Hampshire Moosehead Lake, St. Croix and Machiasport. Dated 6-15-82.

CONDITION: Good, brown spots on a few panels, 1” separation on one fold, a few small holes at folds, a few small chips.
