The front cover is illustrated with vignettes of San Francisco, Yosemite, and mountain scenery in Colorado; appearing on the back cover is a view of the Arkansas Canon with an inset image of a mountain man standing over a slain buffalo. The final 30 pages are devoted to Jenkins Agency tours in Europe.
