New York: Printed by Baker & Godwin, On Hoe’s Cylinder Press, 1857. Engravings by N. Orr. 12mo (7.25” x 4.5”), pictorial self-wrappers. 36 pp., numerous engravings, 3 plates.

An appealing 1857 trade catalog illustrated with fine wood engravings and promoting a variety of Circular Saws, Long Saws, Mill Saws, Cross-Cut and more; also a Gumming Machine, Mandrels, miscellaneous tools and sharpening repair services. Includes also “Directions for Setting and Sharpening Circular Saws,” “Certificates” [company reviews], and “Price Lists.” Two engravings signed by N. Orr depict the workings of the factory, namely men at work in the “Saw Toothing and Smithing Room”, and the “Patent Saw Grinding Machine” room; other illustrations display the saw tooth patterns and other products. Nice catalog, great era.

CONDITION: Good, some soiling and wear, 3 cm split at head of spine, 2 cm spots on 4 p., pale damp stain to bottom right edge of text block, toning, foxing.
