M. Wise, Optician, from Germany, Most Respectfully Informs the citizens of Saratoga Springs…

Saratoga Springs, June 23, 1847. J. Liveley, Printer, 36 Maiden-Lane, New York. Illustrated broadside, 12” x 9”, text and wood engraving within Greek key border.

German-American optician M. Wise announces his return from 437 Broadway, New York to his “old stand” opposite the Adelphi Hotel in Saratoga Springs, which he has occupied “for the last twelve years.” Advertising perifocal spectacles, reading glasses, gold, silver, and steel frames, optical instruments such as telescopes, mirrors, and magnifying glasses, he also introduces the new style of Perspective Ground Glass. A wood engraving of spectacles appears at the top. Testimonials from three M.D.s appear at the bottom.

CONDITION: Good, 4 cm separation at right middle fold, 7 cm separation at center vertical fold, 2 cm closed tear at top right edge, damp stains.
