An unrecorded pocket map of Texas promoting lands for sale in Waco.

Distributed by the Moore and Moore Real Estate, Loan and Bonds Company, this map of Texas depicts the state in its entirety along with portions of Oklahoma, New Mexico, and Mexico. Counties are variously colored and all are outlined in green. Roads are printed in red, congressional districts in green and ninety-six passenger and freight railroad lines with station stops in black. Also included is an inset chart with the Chief Automobile Roads and Distances. Overprinted in blue on the map is a large manicule pointing toward Waco (the name of the town is also printed in blue and surrounded by a blue circle). Text within the manicule reads “Texas Lands are as Safe as Government Bonds.” Appearing in the upper left corner is a Moore and Moore advertisement featuring a map of Texas within a spoked wheel with “Waco, The Hub of Texas” at the center. Text to the right reads: “If you have property for sale, list with us, and Get Results.” Printed on the verso is an “Index of Texas with Latest Official Census, and Shipping and Postal Guide,” and a “Key to Texas Railroads and Express Companies Operating Over Each.” The text on the wrappers promotes Waco as the Hub of Texas, “Population of 45,000, Unlimited Supply of Pure Water…Lowest Tax Rate of any City in Texas” and so on.
