A scarce volume of World War II anti-Japanese propaganda with a dramatic cover illustration depicting a Japanese soldier poised to butt strike a fallen Caucasian lady, while another soldier looks on. Text on the inside of the front cover suggests that the author of this work was a Danish-American journalist who lived in Japan and “was in the confidence of Japanese officials and warlords” and “came to know the dark and sinister secrets of Japan’s inmost councils.” The writer’s name is said to be withheld to protect members of his family from retaliation, who supposedly live “under Nazi domination in Europe.” Issued in the wake of the attack on Pearl Harbor, this extensively illustrated work highlights Japanese atrocities in China using gruesome images of bombing victims, dead Chinese babies, massacres, etc. Includes an account of the Japanese army pimping thousands of women, and a warning about the “hordes of horror” and the “mad plan” of the Rising Sun to conquer the United States.
